SU Members Invited to Pray on First Tuesday of Each Month

SU members are invited to join together to pray for the needs and ministry of Scripture Union on the first Tuesday of each month. SU President Whitney T. Kuniholm explained First Tuesday this way. "First Tuesday is an invitation for all members to make the first Tuesday of each month a day of prayer and perhaps even fasting--for God's direction, for loved ones, for the church, for the world and for the ministry of Scripture Union. We believe God wants us to seek him, to listen for his voice and to follow his ways. That's what First Tuesday is all about."

Each month, the prayer requests from SU staff are posted here on the First Tuesday section of the SU website for members and friends to see and pray for. Although many SU members pray for SU daily, First Tuesday will be a special day when they can know that they’re joining other SU members in bringing the needs of the church, the world and SU before the Lord.

First Tuesday As Scripture Union's ministry moves through the spring, we ask for the prayers of all SU members and friends. May God be pleased and honored in all we do.

Pray for God's blessing on the Spring meeting of the SU Board of Directors in Valley Forge May 4-5. Pray for a clear sense of God's leading and encouragement for both the Board and the staff.

Praise God for the safe and fruitful ministry of SU President Whitney T. Kuniholm in Korea recently. Pray for God to use the E100 to spark a Bible reading revival in that country.

Praise God for the encouraging work of the Pittsburgh Regional Council and staff as they launch and oversee a region-wide E100 initiative and outreach to children through SuperKids and PrimeTime. Pray for God to bless the two events there May 20 and 21 where SU President Whitney T. Kuniholm will be speaking.

Pray for Interim National Field Director Bruce Poulterer as he takes on that responsibility from Gil Reynders (leaving SU May 31). Pray for God to bless Bruce's leadership this summer and to lead SU to new staff needed: A National Field Director and a Mid-Atlantic Summer Mission Field Coordinator.

Praise God for the continuing spread and impact of the E100. Pray that those completeing the E100 will continue to meet God daily in his Word and prayer.

Praise God for new SuperKids outreach sites in the South Central Region and Pray for the teams as they prepare. Pray for God to bless foundation proposals to expand children's outreach in the region.

Pray for God to provide the finances needed this month to prepare for an extensive summer outreach ministry beginning next month.
